HELLO, I'M NIC!
I’m a voice and accent coach working with people on vocal technique, accents and communication. I’ve worked in many of the major conservatoires in the UK such as RADA, Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, LIPA and East 15 and trained with the likes of Kristen Linklater, Barbara Houseman and Cicely Berry. I’ve coached accents and voice for TV, radio and theatre across the UK including Netflix, CBBC and BBC Radio 4. My internationally reaching 1-2-1 practice helps professional voice users with accent work for all kinds of projects likes films, TV, radio and comedy.
My speciality is combining this extensive vocal pedagogy experience with my voiceover background and pinpointing the main accent learning issues performers experience.
I’ve been helping performers with accents for over 5 years offering them autonomy over their own accent learning and empowering them to find consistency and authenticity in the accents they have to acquire. Clients experience more confidence, understanding and ability in breaking down accents and learning them at home.
HOW THE COURSE WORKS
This course will introduce you to the key elements of accent theory via weekly hour-long sessions over a 6 week period. Inside a bespoke Facebook group, I’ll guide you through a different element of accent theory each week designed to offer you a clearer understand of how the accent breakdown process works. You’ll have a chance to explore the exercises, ask questions and receive feedback on your progress.
By the end of the course, you’ll have an increased understanding of how to break down an accent and start learning it yourself.
